L This is a beautiful album! I love how you show vulnerability and honesty consistently throughout this all! Keep grinding because you are very much valued 🔥 AND this is VERY relatable as well sis Favorite track: Rose.

Franco Chan “S. BROADWAY” IS A BEAUTY!!! What a vibe! Late 90s in all the right places, but still current! It’s an incredibly personal song about constant struggle, but never heavy enough to weigh this intricately layered song down. It carries this underlying “keep on keeping on” spirit (poignant for a 2020 world that is currently struggling to correct itself). But the “light” in this song really is Teira’s honey vocals which pull this all into a sweet sinewy vibe to brew morning coffee to! Favorite track: S. Broadway.

S. Broadway 03:17
I feel like an outsider, fallen from grace Trying to reconcile blood on the page I just want to make it right, but i'm so good at doing wrong I should say The truth, the truth, the truth, the truth But I just can't let it go (no) Oh what a desperate night, watching things unfold What a sleepless high I saw it, I saw it all What a desperate night, watching things unfold I saw it, saw it all I can't get over (No no, no, no) Falling under (no, no, no, no) I still feel guilty (no, no, no) But I can't let it go Can't get away no, can't get away So what hangs in the balance? Is it life or death? Pulling me by the collar of color Did I have a chance? (oooh ) (Oh) what a desperate night (oh, oh) Watching things unfold (oh oh) What a sleepless high I saw it, I saw it all (Oh) what a desperate night Watching things unfold (oh oh) I saw it, I saw it all I can't get over (No no, no, no) Falling under (no, no, no, no) I still feel guilty (no, no, no) But I can't let it go Can't get away no, can't get away

Flames 04:16
Standing by the flames Through the looking glass I don't say your name It just hurts too bad How should I reply? When shadows speak to me Never asked you why I just let you leave Deep in the ashes I see your face Round and around I turn to escape Pieces of pictures I can't replace This is how I heal This is how I heal (In my mind) Our time is over I'm free under (In my mind) The weight of everything the impossible (In my mind) And as I move on (In my mind) You are a fragment of my past, my past I don't know how to say this But i'm doing just fine (I swear I'm fine) I thought we were the greatest One of a kind (ooh, ooh, ooh) I know you thought you broke my heart But it's always been mine (ooh, ooh) Now i'm dealing with pieces of history And pieces of me Deep in the ashes I see your face Round and around I turn to escape Pieces of pictures I can't replace This is how I heal This is how I heal (In my mind) Our time is over I'm free under (In my mind) The weight of everything the impossible (In my mind) And as I move on (In my mind) You are a fragment of my past, my past (past) You are, past (oh, oh, oh) You are, you are

Rose 04:56
Whatever place you're in Cherish the time you spend Whatever place you go I'll seal it with a kiss Whatever dream you catch I pray you find sweet rest And in those times you reflect I hope you think of me When you decided I could not meet your need It wasn't healthy to think of all the reasons Why you'd leave You know what love brings I brought my best to you And now you leave a mess for two You know how love burns Ashes to ashes and dust to dust Are all that's left between the two of us And now I never weep I've had some time to think New love has come my way (my way) And my will is not undone, no (undone) It's hard to accept that we loved for two years I have no regrets, learned so much in two years And when we broke up Hurt and healed in a year And now I'm here so It's time for me to let you know You weren't so easy to love (no) When you decided I could not meet your need It wasn't healthy to think of all the reasons Why you'd leave You know what love brings I brought my best to you And now you leave a mess for two You know how love burns Ashes to ashes and dust to dust Are all that's left between the two of us You know I brought my best to you You know how love burns Ashes to ashes and dust to dust Are all that's left between the two of us One divine voice singing to the other What comes is this new freedom not to have to

Vortex 01:31
I know you wouldn't stand in The fire You're out of control Bound to let go Don't say that you want to It's how you made it through And you know yourself The storm, it's out of control Pulling you close If you remain in me I remain in you Let's stand in love Right in the center If you remain in me I remain in you Let's stand in love Right in the center

about

Los Angeles singer, songwriter, and producer, Teira layers nostalgic R&B, alternative jazz, and electronic textures under folk-inspired lyrics. Her debut EP, Vortex, floats between the secular and sacred. S.Broadway, a left-field mix of dreamy vocals and winding chord progressions, highlights her inner world, from a crumbling swap meet to an abandoned baptism pool in South Los Angeles. As a child Teira sang gospel in church, then in her teens snuck into jazz clubs and lo-fi music parties. Vortex explores these sonic connections with the use of analog drum machines and synthesizers while taking cues from Nina Simone, Aaliyah, and Herbie Hancock.
